Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the sushi class? I'm thinking of gifting it to my 12-year-old niece.

A: There isn't a strict age limit for Fumiko's sushi class, but it's best for ages 10 and up since it involves handling knives and sushi-making tools. If your niece has a mature interest in cooking, she should be fine! Plus, Fumiko is super patient and encourages everyone to enjoy the process.

Q: Can the class be rescheduled if we can't make it? I want to buy this as a gift but what if something comes up.

A: Yes, you can reschedule! Fumiko is really flexible and understanding. Just make sure to contact them at least 48 hours ahead of the class, and they’ll work with you to find a new date that fits.

Q: What should we wear for the sushi class? Is it messy?

A: Dress comfortably! You might get some rice or ingredients on your clothes, so maybe an apron or older clothes would be good. It's a fun, hands-on experience, and you’ll be rolling sushi, so just be ready to get a little messy!

Just did the sushi class at Prune Kitchen, and it was amazing!

I’ve never made sushi before, and I have to say, Fumiko was such a great teacher! The salmon roll was my favorite. We got to roll our own sushi, and the ingredients were super fresh. Plus, the miso soup was delicious! If you’re looking for a fun gift, I highly recommend this class. It’s in a cozy kitchen in Seattle, and they even provide green tea!

Considering gifting the sushi roll class, but is it suitable for beginners?

I’m not really experienced in cooking at all. Do you think I'd be able to keep up in Fumiko’s class? I want to buy this for my foodie friend, but I’m worried about the difficulty level.
