This is Big Apple Jazz Tours' most popular tour for the past 25 years. We created a truly immersive experience that walks you in the footsteps of Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington and Thelonious Monk. Enjoy Harlem's best live jazz in a minimum of two hidden jazz haunts for hours of swinging music. Perfectly integrated into the natural flow of the evening, we pause to see and hear about Harlem’s historic past and dynamic current scene. Learn about the Cotton Club, Savoy Ballroom, Minton’s Playhouse, Swing Street, The Tree of Hope, and the Apollo Theater. If you’re a player or singer, let us know so we can help you join the jam. If you’re feeling sociable, your guide can introduce you to all the cats. Where necessary, all music charges at clubs & transportation included! We create the ideal itinerary each night, so you're guaranteed to hear the best shows available no matter which night of the week you join.

Q&A

Q: Are there any age restrictions for the Harlem Jazz Tour?

A: No age restrictions, but I’d recommend it for teens and up. The tour is great for adults, but kids might get bored or not appreciate the jazz history. Just keep in mind that some clubs can get a bit crowded and loud!

Q: How do the cover charges work? Are they included in the price?

A: Yes, all music cover charges are included in the tour price, so you won’t need to worry about extra expenses for the shows. It’s super convenient, and you can just relax and enjoy the music without stressing about cash!

Q: What's the best way to get to the tour location? Is parking easy?

A: I highly recommend taking the subway if you can! Parking can be tough in Harlem and street spots fill up fast. The 125th Street stop is really close, and it’ll save you the hassle of finding a spot.

Thinking about the Harlem Jazz Tour for a birthday gift!

I’m looking at booking the Harlem Jazz Tour for my dad’s birthday next month. He’s a huge jazz fan! I love that it includes live music in hidden spots. Does anyone know how long the tour usually lasts? Also, do they take you to the Apollo Theater? My dad would freak out.

Just did the Harlem Jazz Tour and it was AMAZING!

I went on the Harlem Jazz Tour last week, and wow, it was such a great experience! We hit up two incredible spots and the live music was top-notch. The guide shared so much history about the Cotton Club and even the Tree of Hope. Totally worth it! If you’re thinking about a gift, just do it. You won’t regret it!
