Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this scuba diving experience? Can kids join?

A: Yes, the minimum age for scuba diving is typically 10 years old, but kids must be accompanied by an adult. It's a great family-friendly experience, and the team at Waikiki Dive Center is super accommodating. Just check with them in advance if you plan to bring younger kids to see what options they have!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the dive?

A: If the weather isn’t cooperating, Waikiki Dive Center will usually reschedule your dive for the next available date. They’re really good about keeping you informed. I went last month, and they called me a day in advance to confirm everything. Just make sure to check the cancellation policy when you book!

Q: What should I wear for the dive? Do I need anything special?

A: You’ll want to wear a swimsuit under your clothes since they provide the scuba gear. Also, a rash guard is a good idea if you’re sensitive to sun or want extra protection while diving. Don’t forget a towel and sunscreen, too! They take care of everything else for you.

Thinking of gifting the Hawaii Discover Scuba Dive experience, any thoughts?

I’m looking to get my husband a unique gift for our anniversary, and I found the Hawaii Discover Beginner + Certified 2 Tank Shallow Scuba Diving at Waikiki Dive Center. We’ll be in Oahu soon, and it looks amazing! It’s supposed to be just a short walk from our hotel. Anyone done this? What did you think? Any tips?

Can I scuba dive if I'm not a great swimmer?

I really want to try scuba diving for the first time, but I’m not the best swimmer. I found this diving package in Waikiki and it sounds awesome! Should I be worried about my swimming skills?
