Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this tour? Can kids join?

A: Yes, kids can definitely join! There’s no strict age limit, but I’d recommend it for ages 5 and up. Just keep in mind that some parts of the park might require a bit of hiking, so check if your kids are up for a little adventure! Overall, it’s a fantastic family experience.

Q: What should we wear for the volcano tour? Is it muddy?

A: Definitely wear comfortable hiking shoes — it can get muddy depending on the weather. Also, take layers since it gets cooler in the evening around the lava areas. Pack a rain jacket just in case, too! It can be pretty unpredictable.

Q: What happens if the weather is bad? Can we reschedule?

A: If the weather is really bad, the tour provider will usually reach out to you to reschedule. They’re pretty flexible about it! Just keep an eye on the forecast and maybe have a backup plan for activities in Kona. Safety first!

Thinking about gifting the Volcanoes National Park tour!

Hey everyone! I’m considering this Hawaii Volcanoes National Park tour for my sister’s birthday. She loves nature and I think seeing Kilauea in person would blow her mind! I saw that it includes transportation from Kona, which is super convenient. Just trying to figure out if it’s worth the cost and how long the tour actually lasts. Anyone done it?
