Q&A

Q: Are there any age restrictions for the Hawaii Volcanoes tour?

A: There's no strict age limit for the tour. It's designed to be family-friendly, so kids are definitely welcome! Just make sure to supervise younger ones, especially near the waterfalls. The guide is super attentive and accommodating! I took my 7-year-old, and he had a blast.

Q: What should we wear for the tour? Is it mostly hiking or sightseeing?

A: Definitely wear comfy shoes! You'll be doing a little bit of walking, especially at the Volcanoes and waterfalls. I’d recommend breathable clothing since it can get warm, but bring a light jacket just in case it gets breezy. Don’t forget sunscreen!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad, can we reschedule?

A: Yes, you can reschedule if the weather’s not cooperating! Just call the tour provider a day in advance, and they’ll help you find a new date. We had to do this last minute because of rain, and they were super flexible and understanding.

Just booked the Hawaii Volcanoes tour for my family!

I'm so excited! We're going to see waterfalls, beaches, and the volcanoes too. I can’t wait to experience the beauty of the Big Island with my kids. The pickup from Hilo is a huge plus! I love that it’s a family-operated business. Anyone have tips for the best spots to see or things to bring?

Has anyone done the Hawaii Volcanoes tour recently?

I’m thinking of gifting this experience to my parents. They love nature and history, but I’m unsure if they’ll enjoy the walking part. Any insights?
