Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for participating in the banana cultivation experience?

A: There’s no strict age limit, but I’d suggest it’s best for ages 10 and up. Younger kids might find it challenging to participate in the hands-on activities. Plus, it’s a great way for older kids or teens to learn about Hawaiian agriculture and the environment.

Q: What should we wear for the cultivation experience? Any recommendations?

A: Wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, since you'll be working in the dirt. Closed-toed shoes are a must for safety, and don’t forget sunscreen and a hat! The sun can be pretty strong even in the rainforest.

Q: Can this experience be rescheduled if we can't make it on the original date?

A: Yes! Paradise Unplugged is generally flexible with rescheduling. Just make sure to give them a heads-up as soon as you know you can’t make it. They’re pretty accommodating, especially since it’s a free gift experience.

Just did the Hawaiian Rainforest Banana Cultivation Experience!

I went last week and it was SO cool! You get to work with real apple banana trees, and the staff are super knowledgeable. We learned about the unique plants in the rainforest and how to plant bananas. The setting is beautiful, with those awesome lava rock sculptures everywhere. Definitely recommend for anyone who loves nature!

Thinking about gifting the Banana Cultivation Experience...

I want to gift this experience to my parents since they're visiting Hawaii soon. They love gardening and nature! But I’m a bit worried about how strenuous it might be for them. Any thoughts? Also, how long does the experience usually take?
