Explore some of Charleston's enchanting alleyways and historic sites on this small group, 2-hour walking tour. With our small group tours, you are guaranteed a more intimate and up-close experience. Charleston's alleyways are fortunately located within the popular historic district which allows us to include some well known points of interest and go a little "off the beaten path” while exploring the history and beauty of Charleston's enchanting alleyways. Generally, we include between four to six different alleyways/passages as well as popular points of interest like Rainbow Row and of course, tons of history! These pedestrian passageways are often overlooked, but walking along these cobbled paths is an opportunity to appreciate Charleston's rich history and hidden, more intimate charms.

Q: Are there any age restrictions for the Hidden Alleyways tour in Charleston?

A: There aren't strict age restrictions for the Hidden Alleyways tour, but it's generally recommended for ages 10 and up. Younger kids might get bored or struggle with the walking part since it's about 2 hours long. If you’re bringing kids, just make sure they can handle a bit of walking on cobblestones!

Q: What should I wear for the Hidden Alleyways walking tour? Is it physically demanding?

A: You’ll want to wear comfortable walking shoes since you'll be on cobblestones and possibly uneven surfaces. Casual clothes are totally fine, but check the weather since it can get hot! The tour is generally easy, but be prepared for about 2 hours of walking, which is pretty manageable for most people.

Q: What happens if it rains during the Hidden Alleyways tour? Can we reschedule?

A: If it rains, they usually reschedule the tour for you, so just keep an eye on the weather. It's a small group, so they’re pretty accommodating. You might want to check their policy when booking to get the specifics, but generally, they’ll work with you to find a new time that fits!

Just finished the Hidden Alleyways tour in Charleston—what an experience!

I just got back from the Hidden Alleyways and Historic Sites tour, and wow, it was amazing! Our guide was super knowledgeable, and we saw some really cool hidden spots, not just the usual Rainbow Row. The small group made it so much more personal. If you’re considering it as a gift, I highly recommend it! Perfect for history buffs or anyone who loves a good stroll through charming streets.

Thinking of gifting the Hidden Alleyways tour—any tips?

I’m considering getting the Hidden Alleyways walking tour for my partner’s birthday. They love history, and Charleston's so beautiful! What should I keep in mind? Is it hard to navigate those alleys if you have mobility issues? Just want to make sure it’ll be a good fit!
