Embark on a privately guided journey through Truro’s soul, where history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes converge. This tour weaves together three iconic Cape Cod landmarks: The Highland House Museum, Highland Links Golf Course, and the historic Highland Light. Begin at Highland Light, Cape Cod’s oldest lighthouse (1797). Ascend 69 steps to the lantern room for panoramic Atlantic Ocean views and hear the thrilling tale of its 1996 relocation. Next, step into the Highland House Museum, a 1907 farmhouse-turned-hotel-turned-cultural gem. Once a haven for literary giant Henry David Thoreau, who penned parts of Cape Cod here. Explore rooms inspired by Edward and Josephine Hopper’s artistry. Stroll along the Highland Links Golf Course, America’s first 9-hole links course. Nestled amid rolling dunes and windswept grasses. This private tour blends rich history, cultural depth, and stunning coastal scenery, Available June-September only.

Q&A

Q: Are there any age restrictions for the Highland House and Cape Cod Lighthouse Tour?

A: There aren’t strict age restrictions for this tour, but keep in mind that kids should be accompanied by an adult. The lighthouse has quite a few stairs to climb (69 steps!), so younger kids might need a bit of help or encouragement. It’s a great experience for families looking to explore Cape Cod’s history together!

Q: What’s the best time to book this tour during the summer?

A: Absolutely try to book in the early morning or late afternoon! The light is beautiful for the views and it’s less crowded. Yeah, mid-day can get pretty hot, especially if you’re walking around the golf course and lighthouse. June and September might also be less busy than July and August!

Q: Is parking available at the Highland House and Lighthouse?

A: Yes, there’s parking available at both the Highland House and the lighthouse! Just keep in mind that it can fill up quickly during peak season. I’d suggest arriving early to secure a spot, especially since it’s such a popular area. And there’s easy access from the parking lots to the sites!

Just went on the Highland House and Lighthouse Tour - it was amazing!

I just got back from the Highland House and Cape Cod Lighthouse Tour, and wow, it did not disappoint! The views from the top of the lighthouse are insane, especially with the Atlantic stretching out forever. The Highland House museum was super cool too, seeing all that history and the Hopper art was a highlight. Perfect for any Cape Cod lover! Highly recommend this as a gift for anyone who enjoys history or beautiful views.

Thinking of gifting the Highland House tour - anyone done it?

I’m looking to buy the Highland House and Lighthouse Tour for my parents’ anniversary. They love history and the coast, but I’m a bit nervous about how physically demanding it is. Are the stairs in the lighthouse really tough? What about the walking around the golf course? Any tips?
