Q&A
A: No specific age restrictions! Kids can join, but make sure they can handle a bit of walking and the bus ride. It's pretty family-friendly, and there's lots to learn about the volcanoes. Just keep an eye on them near the falls; it can get slippery.
A: Typically, if the weather is really bad, they’ll let you know and offer to reschedule. You'll want to check their policy before booking, though. Sometimes they can’t go to certain spots if the volcanic activity is too high, but they’ll have alternatives lined up!
A: Wear comfortable shoes since you'll be doing some walking, especially around Rainbow Falls. Layering is key too! It can be sunny, but cooler at the park. A light jacket or long sleeves could be good if you’re prone to getting chilly.

Just booked the Hilo Cruise Ship Excursion!
Hey everyone! I just booked the Hilo Cruise Ship Excursion to Volcanoes National Park for my partner’s birthday. We’ll be stopping at Rainbow Falls, and I can’t wait to see the rainbows there! I’ve heard the guides are super knowledgeable too. Just wondering if anyone has done this and has any tips?
Amazing experience at Volcanoes National Park!
I took the Hilo Cruise Ship Excursion last month, and it was incredible! The air-conditioned coach was super comfy, and the guide shared a ton of cool stories about the volcanoes. Rainbow Falls did not disappoint – the mist created the prettiest rainbows! Highly recommend it if you’re even slightly interested in nature.
