Q&A
A: There's no strict age limit for the Hilo Highlights tour! It's designed for everyone. Just keep in mind that some spots might be tricky for very young kids or older adults. The guide is super accommodating, and they make sure to adjust the pace based on your group. Plus, you can always let them know if you have any concerns!
A: Yes, you can reschedule if the weather is bad! The tour provider is very flexible with cancellations and will work with you to find a new date. Just reach out to them as soon as you know there's a weather issue, and they'll help you out. Better to be safe than sorry when it comes to Hawaiian weather!
A: Definitely wear comfy shoes since you'll be doing a fair bit of walking over varied terrain. Bring a light jacket, as it can get chilly near the waterfalls. The guide provides walking sticks which are super helpful. Also, don’t forget sunscreen and a hat! You’ll be out in the sun quite a bit.

Just came back from the Hilo Highlights tour and WOW!
I did the Hilo Highlights tour last week, and it was absolutely magical! Our guide was super friendly and knew all the best spots. Walking through the lush rainforests to Akaka Falls was breathtaking! We also got to see green sea turtles up close at Punalu'u beach. The snacks they provided were a nice touch too. I gifted this experience to my parents for their anniversary, and they loved it. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting the Big Island!
Thinking of gifting the Hilo tour to my sister—any insights?
I’m eyeing the Hilo Highlights tour for my sister’s birthday! She loves nature and exploring new places, but I want to make sure it’s suitable for her. Can anyone share their experience? Was it tough or pretty chill? Any details on the snacks? Thanks!
