Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this walking tour? I wanna gift it to my kids.

A: Nope, there’s no official age limit! Kids will definitely enjoy it since it’s self-paced. Just keep in mind that younger kids might need some help with the app. It’s a great way to learn about Hilo’s history while being outside!

Q: Can you do this tour if it rains? Any tips?

A: Yes, you can still do the tour in the rain! Just dress for the weather and maybe bring an umbrella. Some of the spots are covered, and the stories are still great even if it’s a bit wet. Check the forecast before you go!

Q: How much walking is involved? I have some mobility issues.

A: The walking tour is pretty flexible! You can go as slowly as you need and even skip parts if you're feeling tired. The historic spots are close together, but it’s best to take breaks whenever you need. Just be sure to have a plan for the app loaded on your phone before you start.

Thinking of gifting the Hilo History tour - any tips?

Hey everyone! I’m considering gifting the Hilo History and Legends audio tour to my parents since they’re heading to Hawaii next month. I think they’d love the stories about the local culture and history. Has anyone tried it? How was the experience? Any must-see spots I should tell them to focus on?

Just finished the Hilo History tour and it was so cool!

I did the Hilo History and Legends walking tour last weekend, and wow, what a great experience! The stories about the Portuguese and Japanese immigration were super fascinating, and I loved how you can do it at your own pace. The app was easy to use, and I could replay parts I found interesting. Seriously recommend it!
