Come join the crew aboard the Tammy Jane for a 2-hour educational and picturesque low-country experience as we take you out Crabbing! We invite you to learn about our healthy salt marsh environment, and introduce you to some of the sea creatures we'll safely pull up our commercial crabbing pots.  We will explore how various ecosystems intertwine to create the rich food web that provides food for our tables.  This is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages! If we do catch carbs aboard an expedition the crew will package some up for guests to take home.

Q&A

Q: What should I wear for the crabbing expedition? Is it going to be wet?

A: You’ll want to dress comfortably and consider wearing clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit damp. The crew suggests layering, since it can get breezy out on the water. Also, flip-flops or water shoes are a good idea, as the deck can be slippery. And definitely don’t forget sunscreen!

Q: Do they have any age restrictions for the crabbing cruise?

A: Nope, it's great for all ages! We took our 7-year-old, and he loved it. The crew does a fantastic job of making it fun and educational for kids. Just keep an eye on them near the edge of the boat, of course!

Q: How do I book this? Any tips on getting a good spot?

A: You can book directly through Vagabond Cruise's website. I recommend booking at least a week in advance, especially on weekends! Try to get a spot on the upper deck if you can for the best views. And keep an eye out for group discounts, sometimes they have them.

Just got back from the crabbing expedition - amazing experience!

I took my kids on the Hilton Head Crabbing Expedition, and it was a blast! The crew was super friendly and explained everything so well. We didn’t catch any crabs, but we saw dolphins swimming beside the boat which was a highlight! The views of the low country were just stunning. Definitely worth the $$, I’d recommend it to anyone who loves the ocean.

Considering gifting the crabbing expedition to my parents!

My folks love the water and any experience outdoors. I’m thinking about the crabbing expedition. I've heard it's educational too, which they’d appreciate. Has anyone done this with older adults? Any thoughts or tips?
