Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on the Hilton Head Guided Kayak Eco Tour?

A: There's no strict age limit, but they recommend kids be at least 8 years old to handle the kayak and paddle effectively. It’s a great family activity, and the guides are super friendly and accommodating, making sure everyone feels safe and included. Just check with Lowcountry Watersports beforehand if you have younger ones!

Q: What's the best time of year to do the kayak eco tour?

A: Spring and early fall are the best times for the tour! The weather is usually perfect—mild temps and fewer storms. Summer can be hot and humid, but if you go early in the morning, it’s still nice. Just be ready for some sweating and bring plenty of water!

Q: What should we wear for the kayak tour? Is it wet or dry?

A: You should definitely wear quick-drying clothes! It's not super wet, but you might get splashed a bit. Flip flops or water shoes are great, plus a hat and sunglasses for sun protection. Don’t forget sunscreen as you’ll be out in the sun for a while!

Just did the Hilton Head Guided Kayak Eco Tour and it was AMAZING!

I went on the kayak eco tour last weekend with my friends, and WOW, it was so much fun! We saw dolphins right off the bat and the guides were super knowledgeable about the local ecosystem. The marsh areas were beautiful, and we even learned about the pluff mud! It was a small group which made everything feel really personal. I'd totally recommend it for anyone looking for a unique experience on Hilton Head.

Thinking of gifting the kayak eco tour!

I’m looking to gift this kayak tour to my parents for their anniversary! They love the outdoors and I think they’d really enjoy it. I’m just curious if it’s easy enough for them since they’re not super athletic. Has anyone done this with older relatives?
