Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids to participate in the gold panning adventure?

A: There's no strict age limit for this experience, but it's best suited for kids aged 5 and up. Younger kids can join, but they might need a bit of extra help with panning. Just keep in mind that some areas can be muddy and the creek can get a bit slippery, so make sure they’re comfortable with that!

Q: What should we wear for the gold panning experience? Is it muddy?

A: Definitely wear waterproof boots and old clothes! It can get pretty muddy, especially if you decide to wade into the water. A light rain jacket is a good idea too, just in case it drizzles. Trust me, you don’t want to ruin your favorite outfit here!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of our adventure?

A: If the weather is really bad, the tour provider usually tries to reschedule as much as possible. They understand that Juneau weather can be quite unpredictable! Just make sure to check their cancellation policy. It's a good idea to have a backup plan just in case.

Thinking about gifting the gold mining experience in Juneau, thoughts?

I’m planning to gift the Historic Gold Mining and Panning Adventure to my dad for his birthday since he’s always been fascinated with the Gold Rush. I’ve read that you can actually keep all the gold you find, which sounds awesome! The only thing I’m worried about is if he’ll be able to handle standing in the creek for a while. Anyone done this before? How was it?

Just got back from the gold panning adventure - what a blast!
