Q&A
A: There isn't a strict age limit for the Historic Houseboat Tour, but it’s probably best for older kids and adults who can appreciate the history. The tour involves a fair amount of walking, so younger kids might get tired. Just keep in mind that some of the stories and themes might go over their heads!
A: You can gift the tour directly through their website or call them for gift cards. If you end up with fewer than 6 people, just call the day before to check if they can accommodate you! They’ve been pretty flexible in the past.
A: Definitely dress in layers since the weather by the bay can change quickly. Comfortable walking shoes are a must, and I'd recommend a light jacket in case it gets windy. The tour is partly outdoors, so be prepared for that!

Just did the Historic Houseboat Tour - Amazing experience!
I can't recommend the Historic Houseboat Tour in Sausalito enough! It was so cool to learn about the history of these houseboats, especially the stories about Otis Redding. Our guide was super knowledgeable and shared some great insights. The 2-hour walking tour flew by! If you're thinking about gifting it, the free parking is a big plus since Sausalito can be a pain to park in sometimes.
Thinking about the Historic Houseboat Tour as a gift!
I'm considering getting this tour for my parents' anniversary. They love unique experiences, and the history part sounds perfect for them. Plus, Sausalito is such a lovely spot! Anyone know how hard it is to get tickets last minute, and can you still go if there are only a few people?
