Q&A

Q: Is this tour good for kids? What age is appropriate?

A: The tour is more suited for older kids and adults since it delves into some heavy historical topics surrounding the abolitionist movement. I'd say kids ages 10 and up would probably get the most out of it. It's a walking tour, so keep that in mind when considering younger kids!

Q: How does the weather affect the tour? What's the cancellation policy?

A: The tour runs rain or shine, so dress appropriately! If the weather becomes severe, they will reschedule, and you're given a heads-up via email. Just make sure to keep an eye on the forecast as your tour date approaches.

Q: What should I wear on this tour? Any tips?

A: Definitely wear comfy walking shoes since you'll be on your feet for a while. Dress in layers, especially if it's a cooler day. You'll probably want to have your camera ready, too, because Beacon Hill is super photogenic!

Just did the Historic Underground Railroad Tour - Amazing experience!

I just finished the Historic Underground Railroad Walking Photo Tour in Boston, and wow, it was incredible! Our guide, who’s a local resident, shared so many stories about Beacon Hill and its role in abolition. Seeing the sites firsthand made the history come alive. Definitely wear comfortable shoes; we walked a lot but it was so worth it for the photos. The $0 price tag is a total steal for what you get!

Considering this tour as a gift - thoughts?

I’m thinking about gifting the Historic Underground Railroad Walking Tour to my aunt who loves history. She’s visited Boston a few times but has never done a guided tour. Does anyone know how long the tour lasts? I want to make sure it fits into her schedule!
