Take a guided hike in Griffith Park to enjoy the stunning views of the Hollywood Sign, Griffith Observatory and LA skyline. Throughout the course of the hike we will ascend the equivalent of 15 flights of stairs at a leisurely pace and take frequent stops to admire the views and hear about the history of this beautiful terrain. Often there are film crews shooting scenes along this trail, who knows who we might spot? As we approach the belly of Griffith Observatory, the iconic Hollywood Sign will come into view and provide a spectacular backdrop to your photos that will make you the envy of all your friends. Get close to the REAL stars at Griffith Observatory, LA’s renowned astronomy museum, with its sweeping terraces. You have the option of entering the building (closed Mondays) after the tour or take the short hike back with your guide. Designed by a former Observatory employee, no other tour presents the history, beauty and context of this area quite like we do, come find out why!

Q&A

Q: What's the best time of year for this hike? I'm worried about the heat in LA.

A: The best time to do this hike is definitely in the spring or fall when the weather is cooler and more pleasant. Summer can get pretty hot in LA, especially during the day, so I’d recommend an early morning tour to beat the heat. Just make sure to wear sunscreen and bring a hat!

Q: Are there any age restrictions on this hike? I want to take my kids.

A: There are no strict age limits for this hike! However, since it does include some steep areas and about 15 flights of stairs, it's best suited for kids who are at least 7 or 8 years old. Just keep an eye on them, and they’ll have a blast!

Q: What should I wear for this hiking tour? Any specific gear needed?

A: You’ll want to wear comfy, breathable clothing and sturdy hiking shoes. Layers are key since it can get cool in the morning and warm up quickly. Definitely bring a hat and sunglasses! A light backpack for water and snacks is also a good idea.

Just booked the Hollywood Sign Hike! Any tips?

I just got tickets for the Hollywood Sign hiking tour to Griffith Observatory next month for my birthday! I'm super excited but also a bit nervous about the hike. Are there any must-see spots or tips for taking great pics? Also, how strenuous is it really? I’m hoping to enjoy the scenery without dying on the stairs!

Highlight of my trip: Griffith Observatory Hike!

I just did the Griffith Observatory hike last weekend, and it was incredible! Our guide was super knowledgeable and made the trek really fun. The view of the Hollywood Sign was epic! We even saw a film crew shooting a scene. If you’re thinking about this as a gift, do it! You won’t regret it.
