Experience and explore backwaters of Homosassa Springs, Ozello and Crystal River national Refuge in Hernando County. Fishing is always a short distant and boat ride to great areas in the Bay. Enjoy fishing one of the most persistent and underused unique ecosystems found in Florida. Fishing is great all year round, and there is such a diversity of nearshore, flats and backcountry fishing for Snook, Redfish, Trout, grouper, and snapper, depending on the season.   Even on windy days, there are plenty of places to fish, in the Bay you can fish one of the many preserves or tributaries of backcountry waterway, making this an experience, not just another fishing trip.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on the fishing charters?

A: There’s no specific age limit mentioned, but it's recommended for kids ages 6 and up. Just make sure they’re comfortable on the boat and can follow instructions from the guide. Also, bring some snacks and maybe a small life jacket if they have one!

Q: What should I wear for the fishing trip?

A: Definitely wear lightweight, breathable clothing since it can get hot out there. A hat and sunglasses are also a must for sun protection. Don't forget some sturdy shoes that can get wet. Flip flops are a bad idea on a fishing boat!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the trip?

A: If the weather looks rough, the charter will usually reach out to reschedule or offer a refund. They’re pretty flexible about it, so just keep an eye on the forecast. It's Florida, so don’t be surprised if the weather changes quickly!

Thinking of getting a fishing charter in Crystal River as a gift!

Hey everyone! I’m looking at the Homosassa Inshore Fishing Charters for my dad’s birthday. He loves fishing but hasn’t been out on a boat in a while. I’ve read great things about the backwaters and the variety of fish like Snook and Redfish. Any tips on booking or what to expect?

What’s the best time of year for fishing in Homosassa?

I'm planning to gift this experience to my brother who loves fishing. I want to make sure we pick the right season. When is the best time to go for catching Trout and Grouper? Does it vary a lot?
