Did you know that honeybees are responsible for pollinating 2/3 of the food we eat? At our Honeybee Adventure, you will learn about the honeybees vital role on our planet and more! You will be guided by our female beekeeper and honey enthusiast as she tells you all about this fascinating insect and the honey they produce. The sanctuary is situated on a special piece of land in upcountry Maui with an amazing panoramic ocean view. After you learn all about bees, you will put on protective bee suits so that you can view the hives up close while you explore inside a beehive. This is a fascinating and fun adventure for the whole family!

Q: Is there an age limit for kids to participate in the Honey Bee Adventure?

A: There's no strict age limit! Kids as young as 5 can join as long as they're accompanied by an adult. Just keep in mind that they need to wear the protective bee suits, which can be a bit big for smaller kids. It’s a great educational experience for families!

Q: What should we wear for the Honey Bee Adventure? Any suggestions?

A: You'll be provided with bee suits, but wear comfortable clothes underneath. Light layers are best since it can get warm in Maui. Closed-toe shoes are a must to protect your feet, and if you have long hair, tie it back to keep it out of the way!

Q: What happens if it rains? Do they cancel the Honey Bee Adventure?

A: They do have a rain policy! If the weather looks risky, they might postpone for safety reasons, but they usually try to work around it. You'll get a chance to reschedule for another day that works for you, so no worries there!

Just did the Honey Bee Adventure! Here’s my take!

Hey everyone! I just got back from the Honey Bee Adventure at the Maui Honey Bee Sanctuary and wow, it was amazing! The views of the ocean from upcountry Maui were stunning. Our guide was super knowledgeable and made the whole bee experience so fun. Getting to suit up and go right up to the beehives was both thrilling and educational. I can't believe how much I learned about bees and their role in our food supply. Definitely a must-do if you're in Maui! Price is free but donations are appreciated.
