Q&A

Q: Can I bring my kids on the Hoonah Whale Tours? Are there any age limits?

A: Yes, kids are totally welcome on the Hoonah Whale Tours! There's no strict age limit, but they recommend younger ones to be at least 3 years old for safety reasons. It's a great family experience, and the guides are super friendly with kids. Make sure to bring some layers, as it can get chilly out on the water, especially if the sun's not out.

Q: What happens if the weather is bad? Can we reschedule?

A: If the weather looks sketchy, the crew will typically contact you to discuss options. They’re pretty flexible with rescheduling due to weather conditions. Just make sure to keep an eye on forecasts leading up to your trip. If they cancel due to safety, you’ll definitely get your money back or be able to book another date.

Q: How strenuous is the whale watching tour? Is it suitable for older adults?

A: The tour is pretty relaxed! It lasts about 3 to 3.5 hours, and while there is some movement as the boat navigates, it's not strenuous at all. The catamaran is stable, and there's a heated cabin if anyone needs a break. I’ve seen older adults on the tours enjoying themselves, so it should be great for everyone!
