Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on the Hoover Dam tour?

A: There's no strict age limit, but kids should be at least 5 years old to get the most out of the tour. It can be a long experience, and the walk across the dam might be a bit much for younger ones. Just make sure to keep an eye on them since it can get crowded.

Q: What should we wear for the Hoover Dam tour? Any tips?

A: Dress comfortably! You might be walking a lot and going into cooler areas inside the dam, so layers are a good idea. Also, wear good shoes since the walk across the dam can be a bit uneven. And don’t forget sunscreen – it can get really sunny up there!

Q: What if the weather's bad? Can you reschedule the Hoover Dam tour?

A: Yes, you can reschedule if the weather is really bad! They usually monitor conditions and will notify you if it’s unsafe to proceed. Just reach out to the provider as soon as possible, and they’ll help you find another date. Always better to be safe!

Planning a Hoover Dam tour for my dad's birthday!

I’m thinking about getting my dad a Hoover Dam Power Plant tour as a birthday gift. He loves engineering and history, so I think he’d appreciate seeing it in person! I heard the tour includes a walk across the dam and lunch at the Lodge, which sounds fun. Is it worth it? Any tips?

Just did the Hoover Dam tour - so impressed!

I went on the Hoover Dam Power Plant tour last week, and wow, it was amazing! The guide was super knowledgeable, and going 530 feet down into the dam was surreal. The views of Lake Mead were breathtaking. Just a heads up, the walk can be a bit tiring, so wear comfy shoes!
