A: The clinic is designed for ages 12 and up, but younger kids can join if accompanied by a parent. It’s a great family activity, but just make sure they can handle some outdoor time! The instructor tailors the activities based on the group’s skill level, so everyone gets something out of it.
A: Wear comfortable outdoor clothing! Layering is key since it might get cool under the redwood canopy. A hat and sturdy shoes are also recommended since you’ll be walking a bit. Don't forget sunscreen and bug spray too!
A: They usually go rain or shine, but if the weather is severe, they'll reschedule. Make sure to check the forecast ahead of time and dress appropriately if it’s gonna be wet!

Thinking of gifting the Wilderness Survival Clinic - any advice?
I’m looking to gift the Wilderness Survival Clinic in Santa Cruz to my partner who loves the outdoors but lacks some basic skills. I think it'll be a fun challenge for them! Just wondering if anyone here has done it and how they liked it. Is it beginner-friendly? What was the best part?
Just did the Wilderness Survival Clinic - so much fun!
I just got back from the Wilderness Survival Clinic in Boulder Creek and wow, what a great experience! The setting in the redwoods is beautiful. The shelter building and foraging were highlights. I even made a fire! Highly recommend it for anyone looking to challenge themselves or just learn some new skills.
