Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids to ride in the biplane?

A: Yes, there is an age limit. Kids need to be at least 5 years old to participate. Just a heads up, the combined weight limit for the two passengers is 400 lbs, so keep that in mind when planning your flight. If your kiddo is under 18, you'll need to sign a waiver for them.

Q: What should we wear for the biplane ride? Anything specific?

A: Wear comfortable clothes and definitely dress in layers, it can get a bit chilly up there. I recommend sunglasses to protect your eyes from the wind and sun. Oh, and don’t forget to secure long hair, it can get wild in an open cockpit! The retro flying cap is a fun touch too.

Q: Can we reschedule if the weather doesn't cooperate?

A: Yes, you can definitely reschedule due to weather conditions. Scallywag Air is pretty flexible with that. They’ll usually reach out to you if the weather looks bad on your flight day. Just keep in mind to give them a call to set up a new time, as they get booked quickly!

Just booked the Island and Bolivar Tour biplane ride for my birthday!

I’m so excited! It’s a 60-minute experience over Galveston and I can’t wait to see the lighthouse from the sky. I’ve heard the views are incredible! Is there anything I should know before my flight? I want to make sure I make the most of it!

Thinking about gifting the biplane ride to my husband, any thoughts?

I want to surprise him with this ride! He loves planes and the history of Galveston, so this seems perfect. Anyone done this before? Is it worth it? Also, what's the best time of day to go?
