Q&A

Q: What's the age limit for this island survival skills training? I want to take my kids!

A: The island survival skills training is suitable for kids aged 8 and up! It's a great family experience, and the instructors are super accommodating. Just make sure the kids are ready for some hands-on activities, like building shelters and making fire.

Q: Can I reschedule if the weather's bad? I'm worried about rain ruining our plans.

A: Absolutely! If the weather looks rough, Hawaii Survival School will reach out to you to reschedule. They prioritize safety, so they won't hold the event if conditions are unsafe. Just keep an eye on the weather forecast!

Q: What should we wear for this island survival training? Is there a dress code?

A: Wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dirty! Closed-toe shoes are a must because you'll be in the wilderness. Also, bring a hat and sunscreen since you'll be outdoors for several hours. Layers are good too, in case it gets warm!

Just did the Island Survival Skills Training - What a rush!

I took the Island Survival Skills Training on Oahu with my brother last week and we had such an epic time! The instructors were super chill and taught us how to make fire using the friction method, which was way harder than I thought. We also built a small shelter which felt like something out of a reality show. I’m thinking of gifting this to my parents for their anniversary! Anyone else done it?

Considering the Island Survival Skills Training as a gift!

I’m thinking about getting this experience for my boyfriend’s birthday. He loves the outdoors and I think he’d enjoy learning some survival skills. I just hope it’s not too intense. Can someone tell me if it’s suitable for a beginner?
