Q&A
A: I'd say late spring (May-June) is great! The wildlife is super active, and it's not too crowded yet. If you go in winter, you get the sleigh ride in the Elk Refuge, which is magical, but the animals are less visible. Just check the weather before you go and dress in layers!
A: Yes, there is a weight limit for the sleigh ride, usually around 250 lbs per person. It's good to check with the tour provider just to be sure. They want to keep everyone safe and ensure the sleigh can handle the load. If you're close to that limit, maybe call ahead to discuss!
A: Getting to the pickup point is pretty straightforward. If you’re staying in Teton Village, they usually come to your hotel. Just confirm with them before your trip. If you're driving, there's parking right at the main area, but it can fill up fast on weekends. Plan on arriving a little early!

Just got back from the full-day wildlife tour—AMAZING!
I went on the Jackson Hole & Grand Teton Park wildlife tour last week and it was incredible! Our guide was super knowledgeable and we saw so many animals: moose, elk, and even a bison! The sleigh ride through the Elk Refuge was a highlight for sure. The lunch they provided was tasty and really hit the spot after a long day. Highly recommend it as a gift for anyone who loves wildlife!
Considering the wildlife tour as a gift—thoughts?
I’m looking to buy this wildlife tour experience for my brother’s birthday. He loves photography and being outdoors. Is it worth it? Can you actually get good photos? How’s the best time to go for that? Any advice is appreciated!
