Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on this whale watching tour?

A: There isn't a strict age limit, but it's recommended for kids at least 6 years old because of the boat ride and the cold weather. The tour can be quite long and might be tough for younger ones to enjoy fully. Just be sure to dress them warmly and bring snacks.

Q: How much time do we actually get on the glacier before the whale watching?

A: You’ll get about 45 minutes to explore Mendenhall Glacier, which is enough time to take some awesome pics and maybe do a short hike. Just make sure to stick to the trails and keep an eye on the weather since it can change fast!

Q: What should we wear on this tour? Is it cold on the boat?

A: Yes, it can get pretty chilly out on the water, even in summer. Layering is key! Wear a good waterproof jacket, warm clothes underneath, and don’t forget a hat and gloves. You’ll be glad you did when the wind kicks up!

Just did the Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching tour and wow!

I went on this tour last week and it was unforgettable! The glacier was stunning, and the self-exploration time felt just right. We saw several humpback whales, and the crew was super knowledgeable. They really knew how to get us close without disturbing the whales. Definitely worth the price!

Thinking about gifting the Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching experience, need advice!

I’m considering getting this as a gift for my parents' anniversary. They love nature but aren’t huge on boat rides. Do you think it’s suitable for them? Any tips on how to convince them it’ll be fun?
