Q&A

Q: What's the best time of year to go for the whale watching tour?

A: The best time for whale watching in Kauai is typically from December to April. During these months, humpback whales migrate to Hawaii for breeding and calving. I went in early March, and we saw tons of whales breaching! Just make sure to book ahead as spots fill up fast.

Q: Are there any age limits for kids on this tour?

A: Kids of all ages are welcome on the Kauai Raft Adventure! The crew is great with children. Just note that younger kids should wear life jackets, which they provide. My 8-year-old loved it and was super excited to see the whales up close!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the tour?

A: If the weather doesn't cooperate, Kauai Sea Tours will reschedule your trip for another day. They monitor conditions closely and prioritize safety. It's a good idea to check their cancellation policy beforehand just in case!

Thinking about gifting a whale watch tour on Kauai, any tips?

I'm considering gifting the Kauai Raft Adventure whale watching experience to my parents for their anniversary. They love the ocean and wildlife! I know it's a small vessel, which seems perfect for a more intimate experience. Is there anything I should know before booking, like what to wear or best times to go?

Just did the Kauai Whale Watch Adventure and it was INCREDIBLE!

OMG, we just got back from the Kauai Raft Adventure whale watching and it was the highlight of our trip! The small boat made a huge difference. We got super close to the whales—saw them breaching and even a mom with her calf! Just be prepared to get a little wet. I’d recommend bringing a light jacket too. Highly recommend this for anyone thinking about it!
