[FOR UP TO 7 PASSENGERS, private tour, includes Waimea Canyon State Park Fees] This tour starts by heading directly to the Waimea Canyon on the west side. On the way there, we will stop to stretch our legs and take a look at the Hanapepe Valley overlook. At Waimea town, we will begin our ascent into the canyon. We will stop at about 1800 feet for our first view, stop at a miniature waterfall for pictures, take a short walk on a nature trail with native Hawaiian plants where you can stand at the very edge of the canyon, and then on to the main canyon viewing area. From there we will head to the top stopping to see the Waipo'o Falls on the way. At the very top we will view two different vantage points of the Kalalau Valley from 4000 feet down to the ocean. On the way back down, listen to a historical tale about the Kalalau Valley. Lunch. Then to the south side for Spouting Horn and Poipu Beach where we will be on the lookout for turtles and the Hawaiian monk seals.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on this tour? My nephew is 7 and I'd love to take him.

A: There’s no strict age limit for this tour, but it's best suited for kids above 6, especially since some parts involve short hikes and steep views. Just be mindful of your nephew’s comfort with heights and nature walks! They usually love the views and the waterfalls, though.

Q: What if the weather is bad on the tour day? Can we reschedule?

A: Yes! The tour provider is super flexible with weather conditions. If it's looking rainy or unsafe, just reach out to them, and they’ll help you reschedule. I had to do that once, and they were really accommodating!

Q: What should we wear? Hiking shoes or will regular sneakers be fine?

A: I'd recommend wearing hiking shoes if you have them! There are some nature trails and rocky areas where good grip is important. Sneakers can work too, just make sure they’re comfortable. Dress in layers because it can get cooler at the canyon's heights.

Thinking about gifting the Waimea Canyon Tour!

Hey everyone! I’m seriously considering gifting the Kauai's Waimea Canyon private tour to my parents. They love nature and hiking, and I think this would be perfect! The views from 4000 feet sound breathtaking. Has anyone done this tour? How was the lunch they provide? I want to make sure it’s a great experience!

Waimea Canyon Tour – Totally Worth It?

I’m thinking about booking the Waimea Canyon and South Side tour for our family trip next month. I’ve heard mixed reviews about private tours, but this one looks awesome! How was your experience? Was it worth the price?
