What to See This is a super cool spot to kayak. Prepare to meet some new sea bird friends, as they love to join the tour and catch the fish that the kayaks disturb. Truly a remarkable experience, although we cannot guarantee this will happen. There is plenty of other wildlife to see and the mangroves are really cool. You will absolutely love this tour, especially the sunset! What to Do We will paddle around and explore the waters, islands, and mangroves of the Preserve. What to Bring We highly recommend bringing water, sunscreen, bug spray, and a snack. All equipment will be provided including the kayak, paddle, life vest, Bluetooth speaker and dry bag. We recommend wearing clothes and shoes that can both get wet and are comfortable.

Q&A

Q: Hey, is there an age limit for the kayak adventure at Shell Key Preserve?

A: There's no strict age limit, but kids should be at least 6 years old for safety. The tour is pretty chill and suitable for families. Make sure they can paddle a bit and follow instructions, though! It’s super fun for all ages.

Q: What happens if it rains? Will they reschedule the kayak tour?

A: If the weather’s looking rough, they’ll usually contact you to reschedule. They want everyone to have a great experience! Just keep an eye on the forecast. It’s best to call them a day before if you're unsure.

Q: What should I wear for the kayak adventure? Any tips?

A: Wear something comfy that can get wet, like quick-dry shorts or a swimsuit. A light shirt is good too, and don’t forget your sunscreen! Flip-flops work, but water shoes are better if you want more grip when landing.

Just did the kayak adventure at Shell Key Preserve – what an amazing time!

I took the kayak adventure with ZOI Adventures last weekend, and wow, it was breathtaking! We saw so many cool birds and the mangroves were just stunning. The sunset on the water was something else. They provided everything we needed, even a Bluetooth speaker. 🌅 I totally recommend it for a fun day out. I’m thinking of gifting this to my sister for her birthday next month!

Considering gifting the Shell Key kayak tour – any tips?

I’m looking for a unique gift for my partner’s anniversary. The kayak adventure at Shell Key Preserve has caught my eye! I love that it’s in St. Pete and the sunset views sound perfect. Just curious if anyone has suggestions on timing. Is it better to go earlier in the day or for sunset? Thanks!
