Q&A
A: Yes, kids as young as 5 can kayak, but they need to be with an adult. Chula Vista Water Sports usually recommends that younger kids are in tandem kayaks with a parent. It's a great family-friendly activity!
A: Typically, you'd want to wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting wet, like a swimsuit or quick-dry shorts. Don’t forget sunscreen and sunglasses! Sandals or water shoes are a great choice, but avoid flip-flops since they can slip off.
A: If the weather conditions are unsafe, Chula Vista Water Sports will reach out to you to reschedule. They’re pretty good about keeping an eye on the forecast, so you shouldn’t have to worry too much about showing up in bad weather. Just make sure to have a flexible day!

Just did the kayaking experience on San Diego Bay – what a blast!
I went kayaking with Chula Vista Water Sports last weekend, and it was amazing! The views of the bay and downtown are stunning. We saw some cool wildlife too! They provided everything we needed, including life vests and a waterproof bag for our stuff. I can't recommend this enough as a gift for someone who loves the outdoors. Just be ready for a bit of a workout!
Thinking about gifting a kayaking experience but have some questions!
I’m looking at the kayaking experience in San Diego Bay from Chula Vista Water Sports for my partner's birthday. They love the ocean, but they’re not super athletic. Is this experience beginner-friendly? Also, how's the parking situation there? Any tips would be appreciated!
