Q&A

Q: Are there any age restrictions for kayaking on Kahana River?

A: There aren't strict age limits, but it's generally recommended for kids over 7. Younger ones might find it hard to paddle for long. Just make sure they can wear a life vest comfortably and can follow safety instructions. It’s such a cool family activity!

Q: What should we wear for the kayaking tour?

A: Lightweight clothes and a swimsuit are ideal since it can get warm! Also, wear flip-flops or water shoes – you might get your feet wet. Don’t forget sunscreen and a hat since you’ll be out in the sun. A dry bag is included, so you can store a towel or change of clothes.

Q: Is it easy to find parking near the launch site?

A: Yes! There’s a decent parking area right by the launch site. Just arrive a bit early to snag a good spot, especially on weekends. Only a short walk to the water, so no biggie. If you’re going with a group, carpooling might be a fun idea!

Thinking of gifting the Kahana River kayaking experience!

I'm looking at getting this kayaking experience on Kahana River for my parents. They love nature but are pretty inexperienced when it comes to kayaking. I read it's beginner-friendly with calm waters, which is perfect for them! Any tips on what else to consider?

Just went kayaking at Kahana River and it was incredible!

I did the self-guided tour last week and wow, what a serene experience! The trees overhead made it feel like a hidden paradise. The kayaks were easy to paddle, even for a newbie like me. I saw fish and even a few birds! Highly recommend for anyone who loves nature. Can’t wait to go back!
