Q&A
A: Yes, your 5-year-old can definitely join the Kealakekua Bay snorkeling trip! They recommend life jackets for younger kids, and the guides are really helpful with making sure everyone stays safe. Just keep in mind that strong swimmers usually get more out of it, but it’s definitely family-friendly.
A: Weather can definitely impact the snorkeling experience, but they usually only cancel if conditions are unsafe. If you're worried, it's a good idea to check the forecast before you go. They can also help you reschedule if needed, just give them a call.
A: Yes, there’s parking available at the harbor where the Fair Wind II departs. It can get crowded, especially on weekends, so I’d recommend arriving at least 30 minutes early. That way, you can find a spot and grab any last-minute snacks!

Thinking about gifting the Kealakekua Bay snorkeling experience!
I’m looking at the Kealakekua Bay Afternoon Snorkel for my brother’s birthday. He loves the ocean but has never snorkeled before. The idea of the waterslides and that beautiful bay sound amazing! I heard it’s also good for first-timers. Anyone got tips on what to wear or do beforehand? Any must-try snacks on board?
Just did the Kealakekua Bay snorkeling trip, and it was epic!
Just got back from the snorkeling tour, and I can’t recommend it enough! The views of the Captain Cook Monument were insane, and the coral reefs were bursting with color. The crew was super friendly, and the snacks were on point. Perfect way to spend an afternoon in Hawaii! Anyone else who went have favorite moments?
