Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids to join the guided track visit?

A: There’s no strict age limit for the guided track visit at the Kentucky Derby Museum, but kids must be accompanied by an adult. It's family-friendly, so it's a great experience for kids! Just keep in mind that younger kids might get restless during the walking tour and film, so maybe bring some snacks to keep them occupied.

Q: What should I wear for the guided track visit? Is it outdoors?

A: Definitely dress for comfort! The guided track visit has some outdoor elements, so I'd suggest wearing comfy shoes and checking the weather. Layers are a good idea too, since it can get a bit windy at Churchill Downs. Don't forget sunscreen if it's sunny!

Q: If the weather is bad, do they cancel the guided tours?

A: They typically do not cancel unless there are severe weather conditions like thunderstorms or tornado warnings. The guided track visit has some indoor activities, plus the museum itself is all indoors, so you can still enjoy your time there. Just check their website for any alerts before you head out!

Thinking of gifting the Kentucky Derby Museum experience!

So I'm looking to surprise my dad with the Kentucky Derby Museum tickets for his birthday. He's a huge horse racing fan but has never been to the Derby. The idea of the guided track visit sounds perfect! Is the 360-degree film really as cool as they say? Also, what's the best time to go?

Just got back from the Derby Museum, and WOW!

I took my family to the Kentucky Derby Museum last weekend, and it was a blast! The guided track visit was informative and the film gave me chills! Plus, we met the resident Thoroughbred, who was so sweet. If you're thinking about a gift for someone who loves horses or history, this is the perfect choice. Parking was easy too, and the café had some tasty Southern food!
