Q&A
A: Yes, there is a minimum age requirement of 10 years old for this experience. They need to be able to handle the boat and fishing gear safely. It's perfect for older kids and teens, though! Make sure they’re dressed warmly as it can get chilly, even in summer!
A: You should definitely wear layers! The outfit comes with rain gear, so you'll be fine if you get splashed. But I'd recommend wearing warm clothes underneath, like thermal layers, and sturdy boots for sure. And don’t forget a good hat to keep the sun off your face!
A: Rain is quite common in Ketchikan, but don’t worry! They run the trips rain or shine, and the gear provided keeps you dry. If the weather is severe, they’ll give you a heads-up and help you reschedule. Just be ready for a bit of an adventure!

Just booked the Ketchikan fishing trip, any tips?
I'm super excited about our fishing trip with Baranof! We’ll be out there next month and I just want to make sure we’re prepared. The seafood stew sounds amazing, but I'm curious about how much fishing we actually get to do. Is the catch guaranteed? Also, do they have good coffee at the camp?
Fishing and dining in Ketchikan - a must-do!
I just came back from the fishing trip and WOW! The whole experience was fantastic. We caught a ton of fish and the stew they prepped was beyond delicious. It's such a unique way to enjoy the wilderness. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a gift or a fun day out!
