Q&A
A: Definitely dress in layers! Mornings can be chilly, so I'd recommend a waterproof jacket and some warm clothes underneath. Don't forget sturdy shoes because it can get slippery on the boat. Also, a hat and sunglasses are a good idea for the sun reflecting off the water.
A: Kids are totally welcome on the charters! There’s no strict age limit, but it’s good to check with the provider if your kids are very young. They generally do well as long as they can listen to instructions. It’s a great family experience—just keep an eye on them around the water.
A: They have a pretty good rescheduling policy! If the weather is too rough, they’ll work with you to find another day that suits you. Just keep an eye on weather updates and communicate with the charter ahead of time. They want you to have a great experience!

Just got back from Ketchikan Fishing Charters—what an experience!
I booked a fishing charter for my boyfriend’s birthday, and it was amazing! The crew was super friendly and experienced. We caught tons of salmon, even some really big ones! The snacks and drinks they provided were a nice touch too. Just a heads up, the boat does rock a bit, so if you're prone to seasickness, maybe take some Dramamine before going. Overall, highly recommend!
Thinking about gifting a fishing charter, any tips?
I’m looking to buy a fishing charter experience for my dad's 60th birthday. He’s not super outdoorsy but loves fresh fish. Do you think this would be a hit? Any intel on the best times to go? Thanks!
