Q&A
A: There's no strict age limit for the Ketchikan fishing charter, but the crew usually advises that kids should be at least 5 years old due to safety protocols. They can provide life vests and help with the fishing, so it’s a great family outing! Just keep in mind that younger kids might need some extra supervision and patience.
A: Alaska weather can be unpredictable! If conditions aren't safe for fishing, the charter should reschedule you. They usually have flexible policies for weather-related cancellations, but it's best to check with them directly to be sure. Just keep an eye on the forecast as your date approaches!
A: Dress in layers! It can be chilly on the water, so a good waterproof jacket and some warm clothes underneath are essential. Don’t forget a hat and sunscreen since you can still get sunburned out there. Comfortable shoes are a must too, sneakers or water shoes work well!

Going on the Ketchikan Fishing Charter - Any tips?
I'm thinking about booking the Ketchikan salmon and halibut fishing charter for my dad's birthday. It's supposed to be a 6-hour tour, and I’ve heard good things about the captain. What's the fishing like there? Any tips for a first-timer? Also, are drinks really included, or is it just soda?
Just got back from the Ketchikan fishing tour - WOW!
I just came back from the Ketchikan charter and I have to say, it was an incredible experience! We caught a ton of halibut and salmon, even though I didn't have much fishing experience. The captain was super helpful, and the scenery was breathtaking. If you’re thinking about gifting this, DO IT!
