Danger Charters is the only tour operator in Key West offering sailing excursions on a historic schooner into the remote backcountry of the National Wildlife Refuge. Our trips are truly small-group, with a max of around 20 guests, so you'll never feel crowded—whether you're snorkeling, kayaking, or relaxing on deck. On the Premium Day Trip, we often stop at a shallow sandbar, a guest favorite for swimming, wading, or just enjoying the view! What really sets us apart is our crew. They're passionate about what they do, and it shows in the way they lead each activity, share local history, and give fun, informative eco talks. Whether you're brand new to snorkeling or a seasoned paddler, the crew offers guidance, support, and an easygoing atmosphere that makes everyone feel welcome. This trip combines adventure, education, and laid-back sailing in one of the most beautiful and untouched parts of the Florida Keys.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the Key West Full-Day Ocean Adventure?

A: There's no strict age limit, but kids usually need to be at least 6 years old to join the kayaking and snorkeling activities. If you're considering it for younger kids, it could be a fun experience, but you'll want to keep an eye on them since the water can be a bit choppy sometimes. The crew is great with children, so they'll help make sure everyone stays safe and has a good time!

Q: What do you wear for the snorkeling part of the trip?

A: Wear something comfortable like a swimsuit and maybe a rash guard if you burn easily. The crew provides snorkeling gear, but I’d recommend bringing water shoes if you have them since the sand can get hot. Don't forget sunscreen—reef-safe, of course!

Q: What if the weather's bad on the day of the trip?

A: Danger Charters will usually notify you if they need to cancel due to severe weather. They do their best to keep the trip ongoing if it's just a bit rainy or overcast. In case of a cancellation, they offer rescheduling options or you can get a refund. Just keep an eye on the forecast as your date approaches!

Thinking of gifting the Key West Ocean Adventure—any tips?

I’m planning to gift the full-day ocean adventure to my sister for her birthday! She loves the ocean but has never snorkeled before. I’m worried she might find it too challenging. Anyone have experience with this? What’s the vibe like on the boat? Any tips would be appreciated!

Just did the Key West Full-Day Ocean Adventure—so much fun!

Wow, what a day! Just got back from the sailing trip with Danger Charters. The crew was amazing, super friendly and knowledgeable. Snorkeling was my favorite part—saw so many cool fish! The buffet lunch was also delicious, and the unlimited drinks were a nice touch. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a fun day in Key West!
