Q&A
A: There’s no strict age limit for the Kilauea tour, but they recommend kids be at least 6 years old. The hike and the volcano's terrain can be a bit challenging for younger children, but if your kids are adventurous and enjoy nature, they should have a blast! Just keep an eye on them during the tour.
A: Dress in layers! The summit can be cool and windy while the shores are usually warm. I'd recommend a light jacket, sturdy shoes for hiking, and a hat. Don’t forget sunscreen, even if it’s cloudy!
A: They do monitor the weather closely! If the conditions are unsafe, they'll reschedule your tour. Just make sure to check in with them the day before. They’re pretty flexible and will keep you updated!

Just did the Kilauea Summit to Shore tour! Amazing experience!
I went on the Kilauea tour last week and it was absolutely breathtaking! The guides were super knowledgeable and gave us lots of cool info about the volcano. The picnic lunch by the shore was such a nice touch! Just a heads up, wear comfy shoes because there’s some hiking involved. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting the Big Island!
Thinking of gifting the Kilauea tour, any tips?
Hey everyone, I'm considering getting the Kilauea Summit to Shore tour as a gift for my parents. They love nature but aren’t super fit. Any tips on whether this is a good idea? Also, how's the transportation from the hotel? Do they pick you up right at the door?
