Q&A
A: Yes, kids can definitely join! The tour is suitable for families with children, though I’d recommend it for ages 6 and up. Just make sure they’re okay with some walking, since you'll be exploring the Cloud Forest. Also, the guides are super friendly and accommodating to families!
A: Definitely wear comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting a bit muddy, especially on the trails. I'd recommend lightweight, breathable clothes since it can get humid. The guides provide ponchos if it rains, but a hat and sunscreen are also good to have since you’ll be outdoors for a while!
A: Rain is pretty common in the Cloud Forest, but it usually adds to the experience! If it’s a heavy downpour, the tour may be rescheduled. Make sure to check with the provider beforehand. They’re usually pretty flexible about it, so just communicate with them!

Just booked the Kona Cloud Forest tour for my parents - any tips?
I’m so excited! I booked this for my parents' anniversary and they love nature and coffee. Just wanted to see if anyone has gone on this tour recently. Any tips on what they should wear or bring? Also, how long is the coffee tasting part? I hope they enjoy hanging out with the sea turtles too!
Amazing experience! A must-do on the Big Island!
I just got back from the Kona Cloud Forest and Coffee Tour and wow, what an experience! The guides were super knowledgeable about the ecosystem and coffee process. The sea turtles at the beach were breathtaking! Just a heads up, the trails can be a bit slippery, so wear good shoes. Highly recommend this for anyone visiting the Big Island!
