None of your friends and family want to go fishing with you? Don't have to be "the one" who reels it in but want to enjoy an inexpensive day on the water? A shared charter is for you. This is a per person deal with six guests maximum per trip. Experience being out on the water at a fraction of the cost with an equal opportunity to catch a fish. Learn about the history and culture of the island from the friendly captain and crew and relax on the boat and wait to see if a marlin, yellow fin tuna, mahimahi or spearfish bite. Bite Me Sportfishing operates multiple vessels. Due to booking minimums and unforeseen circumstances you may be moved to another boat other than the one you were confirmed on.

Q&A

Q: What should I wear for the shared fishing trip? Is it cold out on the water?

A: Definitely wear layers! It can be a bit chilly in the morning, but it warms up as the day goes on. I recommend a lightweight jacket and breathable clothes, plus don’t forget your sunscreen and a hat for later. You might also want some non-slip shoes since the boat can get wet.

Q: Is there an age limit for kids to participate in the fishing charter?

A: While there's no strict age limit, I'd say kids should be at least 8 years old. The crew is super friendly and used to helping younger ones reel in their catch. Just make sure they can follow instructions and have fun!

Q: How flexible is the scheduling if the weather turns bad?

A: They usually try to reschedule for you if the weather's not cooperating. If it's really bad, they’ll cancel and refund you, or you can book for another day. It’s always best to check the forecast before you go.

Thinking of gifting a fishing charter with Bite Me Sportfishing!

I'm considering this shared fishing experience for my boyfriend's birthday. Has anyone done it? It seems like a cool way to enjoy Hawaii and maybe catch some fish! I love that it’s per person, so we don’t have to commit to a whole boat! What should I expect?

Questions about the shared fishing experience in Kona!

Has anyone tried this shared fishing charter? I’m worried about how many people are on the boat and if it gets cramped. Also, is the fishing gear included? I’d love to hear your experiences!
