Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids to join the Kona Snorkel Tour?

A: Yes, children must be at least 5 years old to participate in the Kona Snorkel Tour. They should also be comfortable in the water and wearing a life jacket, which is provided. It's a fantastic outing for families, but just keep an eye on younger kids during the snorkeling part!

Q: What should I wear for the snorkeling tour? Is it cold in the water?

A: Wear a swimsuit and maybe a rash guard for sun protection. The water is warm, usually around 75°F, but you might want a light cover-up for when you’re on the boat. Don’t forget sunscreen! You can rinse off on the boat with the fresh water they have.

Q: How do rescheduling or weather cancellations work?

A: If the tour is canceled due to bad weather, they’ll reschedule you for another day at no extra charge. If you need to change your plans, just give them a call; they’re really flexible and understanding. Just keep an eye on the weather leading up to your tour!

Thinking about gifting the Kona Snorkel Tour - any tips?

I’m looking to surprise my partner with the Kona Snorkel Tour at Captain Cook Reef! I love that it's a small group and the chance to see dolphins. Is there a best time of year to go? Also, what snorkeling gear is provided? Any advice would be appreciated!

Just did the Kona Snorkel Tour and it was AMAZING!

Wow, the Kona Snorkel Tour was one of the best experiences ever! We saw so many fish and even snorkeled in those cool sea caves. The fresh pineapple was a nice touch too! I highly recommend this for anyone visiting Big Island. Just be prepared to get a little wet and hold on tight in the boat!
