Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the snorkeling tour at Kealakekua Bay?

A: There’s no strict age limit, but kids need to be at least 8 years old to participate in this tour for safety reasons. If you're bringing younger kids, you might want to consider a private tour or check with the provider about accommodations. They do provide flotation devices, which can help younger ones feel more secure in the water!

Q: What should I wear for the snorkeling trip? Is it chilly in the water?

A: Definitely wear a swimsuit, and maybe a rash guard if you're prone to getting cold. The water temp is usually around 75°F, so it’s pretty comfortable, but that can change depending on the weather. Also, remember to bring a reusable water bottle for hydration, and don't forget reef-safe sunscreen!

Q: What if it rains on the day of the snorkeling tour? Can we reschedule?

A: If the weather’s bad, they usually offer to reschedule for you. It’s best to call the provider ahead of time if you think conditions might not be ideal. They’re quite flexible with booking changes, especially if safety is a concern. Just keep an eye on the weather forecast!

Thinking of gifting the Kona Snorkeling trip to my parents!

I’m considering this snorkeling experience for my parents’ anniversary. They love the ocean, and the idea of seeing Kealakekua Bay with its history and beauty sounds perfect! I’ve read they provide snacks too, which is a bonus. Has anyone done this? Any tips?

Just went on the snorkeling trip and it was incredible!

Woah, I just got back from the Kona snorkeling tour at Kealakekua Bay. The fish were vibrant and the crew was super friendly. We even got to see some dolphins! The whole picnic thing was perfect after snorkeling. Highly recommend it to anyone thinking of booking this.
