Q: What's the best board size for a beginner? I'm thinking of getting this for my partner who has never surfed before.

A: For beginners, I'd recommend starting with the 9-ft board. It's more stable, which makes it easier to catch waves and balance. If your partner's on the smaller side, the 8-ft could work too, but I think the extra length helps a lot when you're just starting out. Just make sure they have some sunscreen and swimwear ready!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad? Can we reschedule the rental?

A: If the weather does turn sour, Saltwater Soul has a pretty flexible policy. You can usually reschedule your rental without any issues. Just give them a heads-up as soon as you can, and they’ll help you find a better day to ride those waves!

Q: Is parking easy near the beach where we’ll pick up the surfboards? I'm not familiar with Kona.

A: Parking can be a bit tricky depending on the time of day, especially on weekends. There are some lots nearby that charge a small fee, or you might find street parking if you're lucky. I’d recommend getting there early to snag a spot, plus it gives you time to soak in the views before hitting the waves!

Just rented surfboards in Kona, what an epic experience!

I just did this surfboard rental with Saltwater Soul on the Big Island and it was such a blast! The 8-ft board was perfect for me as a beginner. The beaches are stunning, and we even saw some sea turtles while out there! I highly recommend getting there early to pick up your board and enjoy the beach vibe. Can't wait to go back!
