Q&A
A: Yes! You can reschedule your visit to the La Brea Tar Pits and Museum if something comes up. Just make sure to contact their customer service at least 24 hours before your scheduled time. They'll help you find a new date that works for you.
A: There’s no strict age limit for the Excavator Tour, but kids under 8 need to be accompanied by an adult for safety reasons. It’s a great experience for kids who are into dinosaurs and fossils, so it could make a fun family outing!
A: Parking at the La Brea Tar Pits is pretty straightforward. There's a parking lot right next to the museum, and it costs about $12. If you’re taking public transit, the bus system in L.A. makes it easy to get there, just check the Metro website for routes. Best to go early to avoid crowds!

Thinking about gifting the La Brea Tar Pits experience, thoughts?
I’m considering this as a birthday gift for my niece who’s obsessed with dinosaurs! The Excavator Tour sounds really cool, and she’d get to see real paleontologists at work. I just hope it’ll be engaging enough for her age (she's 9). Anyone done this with kids? What was their reaction?
Just did the Excavator Tour – wow!
I went to the La Brea Tar Pits last week and did the Excavator Tour. It was absolutely amazing! Watching the paleontologists work was like being on a real-life discovery channel episode. I loved seeing the fossils up close, especially the saber-toothed cat! If you're into history or paleontology, this is a must-do. Just make sure to wear some comfy shoes since there's a bit of walking!
