Thinking about gifting the La Brea Tar Pits experience, thoughts?

I’m considering this as a birthday gift for my niece who’s obsessed with dinosaurs! The Excavator Tour sounds really cool, and she’d get to see real paleontologists at work. I just hope it’ll be engaging enough for her age (she's 9). Anyone done this with kids? What was their reaction?

Just did the Excavator Tour – wow!

I went to the La Brea Tar Pits last week and did the Excavator Tour. It was absolutely amazing! Watching the paleontologists work was like being on a real-life discovery channel episode. I loved seeing the fossils up close, especially the saber-toothed cat! If you're into history or paleontology, this is a must-do. Just make sure to wear some comfy shoes since there's a bit of walking!
