Nobody walks in LA? Prepare to challenge your expectations and preconceptions as we wind our way through Downtown Los Angeles on foot. The City of Angels is vast and sprawling, to be sure, a world city and global hub that boasts the busiest port in the western hemisphere and a local economy rivaled only by New York and Tokyo. Yet strolling through its dense core, where it all began hundreds of years ago alongside the LA River, Los Angeles still feels like a western outpost – forward looking, experimental, and adventuresome, especially when it comes to eating. Our food journey may seem extensive, but it’s truly only a taste of the banquet laid out for the bold, the curious, and the intrepid as they continue to explore the seemingly boundaryless City of Angels.

Q&A

Q: Is there a age limit for this food tour? Can kids join?

A: Great question! Kids are welcome on the LA Food Tour, but I'd recommend checking with Culinary Backstreets to see if they have any specific age recommendations. They usually do a good job of accommodating families. Just keep in mind that some of the food may be more adult-oriented, so it's good to have some snacks on hand for kids if they’re picky eaters!

Q: What should I wear for the food tour? Is it casual?

A: You’ll want to wear something comfortable since you’ll be walking a lot! Casual attire is totally fine, but consider the weather. LA can get hot, so breathable fabrics and comfy shoes are key. A light jacket might help if you’re going in the evening when it cools down.

Q: How does the rescheduling process work if needed?

A: Rescheduling is pretty flexible with Culinary Backstreets! They typically allow you to reschedule if you give them at least 24 hours notice. Just reach out to them via email or their website, and they’ll help you find a new date that works.

Thinking about the LA Food Tour for my foodie friend!

Hey everyone! I'm considering gifting the LA Food Tour for my friend who’s a total foodie and loves trying new things. I read that it includes lunch, snacks, and even drinks which sounds awesome! Does anyone have tips on what to expect? Also, how long does the tour usually take? I want to make sure I give the best experience possible!

Did the LA Food Tour last weekend, and it was amazing!

Just got back from the LA Food Tour and wow, what a great experience! We stopped at some incredible local spots in Downtown LA. The variety of food was insane, and our guide was super knowledgeable about the history of the area. We drank some killer cocktails too! Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore the culinary scene here. Can't wait to do it again!
