I would love to be your Tahoe local friend and lead you on a 2 mile hike to a beautiful overlook of Emerald Bay and the ENTIRE Lake Tahoe basin. In my 25 years of living here, I have explored many of the trails and much of shoreline around Tahoe and this vantage point is one of my favorites. Also available for the sunrise, sunset, and/or moonrise! Great for groups and team building. Beginner and kid friendly too. Intermediate-level hike available too. I am happy to try and accommodate mobility challenged/differently abled folks on the hike. The experience begins with a paved walk on a campground road. Then the trail turns to dirt with a slight incline for about ¼ mile until we get to the lookout point. If you are visiting Tahoe during the winter time, the hike will most likely be covered in snow. Snow boots or hiking boots will be needed. I can bring a sled to help tow the kiddos. The hike may be weather dependent due to heavy snowfall.

Q&A

Q: Is this hike suitable for young kids? I want to surprise my family.

A: Absolutely! The hike is beginner-friendly and great for kids. The guide has sleds available for the little ones if they get tired. Just make sure to dress them in warm clothes, especially if you're going in winter.

Q: What if the weather is bad? Can we reschedule?

A: If the weather's really bad, like heavy snowfall, you can definitely reschedule. The guide is super flexible and wants everyone to have a great experience. Just reach out to them, and they’ll work something out!

Q: What should we wear for the hike? Are there any restrictions?

A: Wear comfortable hiking shoes or snow boots if you're going in winter. Dress in layers since the weather can change. No special restrictions, but if anyone has mobility challenges, let the guide know beforehand so they can accommodate!

Thinking about booking the Lake Tahoe hike as a gift, but need advice!

Hey everyone! I'm considering giving my partner the Lake Tahoe hiking experience as a gift. The beautiful views of Emerald Bay sound amazing, especially at sunset! I'm just worried about the level of difficulty. Are the trails manageable for someone who's not a super experienced hiker? Also, any tips on what to bring?

Anyone done the Tahoe hike in winter? How was it?

Just booked the Lake Tahoe hike for next month and I’m excited! I heard it gets snowy and they provide sleds for kids, which is cool. Anyone else done this during winter? What should I expect and how cold does it really get? Any tips would be appreciated!
