All of our kayaks have a rudders which is very important on windy days and is a great way to steer with ease. Our naturalist guides/level 3 ACA certified trip leaders are the top in their field and have years of experience, this helps when talking about Yellowstone as a naturalist and safety as a seasoned guide. Kayaking past the west thumb geyser and Potts geyser basin is a truly special way see this area of Yellowstone lakes thermal features, With our fast and stable kayaks we are able to cover more ground safety to optimize guests overall experience.

Q: What's the age limit for kids on the Lake Yellowstone kayak tour?

A: Kids as young as 8 can join the kayak tour, but they should be able to handle themselves in a kayak and wear a life jacket. I took my 10-year-old last summer, and she loved it! Just make sure they're comfortable in the water and ready for some fun.

A: Yes, Shurr Adventures is pretty flexible with rescheduling due to weather. They usually monitor conditions and will contact you if they need to adjust the schedule. It’s best to confirm with them a few days before, just in case!

A: Dress in layers! The mornings can be chilly on the lake, so a light jacket is good. Wear quick-dry clothes and a hat for sun protection. They provide splash jackets, but you'll want comfy clothes underneath. Don’t forget sunscreen!

Just did the Lake Yellowstone kayak tour — it was incredible!

I just got back from the Lake Yellowstone Half Day Kayak Tour and wow! Paddling past the geysers was surreal. Our guide was super friendly and knew so much about the area. The kayaks were stable, which was great since it got a bit windy later on. I highly recommend bringing snacks for the break; we stopped and had some fruit leather, which was perfect!
