Q&A
A: The Lamar River Valley hike is generally moderate in difficulty. The guides are really good at adjusting the pace to fit the group's fitness level, so your parents should be fine as long as they can handle some uphill stretches. Plus, they provide trekking poles to help with balance. Just make sure they wear good hiking shoes and stay hydrated!
A: There’s no strict age limit, but kids should be able to walk for several hours. The guides are great with families and will ensure that everyone has a good time. Just be sure your kid is comfortable walking in nature and can handle a moderate trail. Also, bring some extra snacks for them!
A: Comfort is key! Wear moisture-wicking clothes and sturdy hiking shoes. Layers are a great idea since it can get chilly in the morning and warm up later in the day. I'd also recommend a hat for sun protection and maybe a light rain jacket just in case. The guides will provide backpacks and trekking poles, so you’re all set there!

Just did the Lamar River Valley hike and WOW!
I took the Lamar River Valley hike tour last weekend and it was incredible! The views were stunning, especially at the river bend. Our guide was super knowledgeable about the park's history and wildlife, and the picnic lunch was perfect in the fresh air. We spotted some bison too! If you're considering this as a gift for someone, do it! Just make sure they have comfy shoes.
Thinking of gifting the Lamar Valley hike tour!
I’m looking to get this hike tour for my girlfriend’s birthday. She loves nature and I think this would be perfect! I’m a bit worried about logistics though—any tips on getting there and parking? Also, should I book it ahead of time?
