Q&A

Q: What should we wear for the Survival Skills class in the Catskills?

A: Definitely wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing! Layers are key since it can get chilly in the Catskills, especially in the morning. Waterproof shoes are a must - you’ll be walking through some rough terrain. Don't forget sunscreen and a hat if it’s sunny!

Q: Is there an age limit for the class? Can kids come?

A: Great question! The class is suitable for ages 12 and up, but younger kids might be able to join with a guardian. Just make sure they're comfortable in the outdoors. It’s a pretty hands-on experience, so it'll help if they're adventurous!

Q: What’s the cancellation policy in case of bad weather?

A: If the weather looks really bad, they’ll usually reschedule you for another date. They prioritize safety, which is awesome. Just make sure to check the forecast a few days ahead and keep in touch with the school!

I’m looking to gift the Survival Skills experience for my boyfriend’s birthday. He loves the outdoors but has no survival training. The class looks awesome, and I hear Dave is a great instructor. Would love to know what to expect! Any tips from people who’ve done it?
