I’m an experienced surfer from Encinitas who wants to share the epic experience of surfing with you. I teach lessons for beginners to intermediate surfers. My goal is that you are having fun, feel confident, and fully embrace the unique experience that surfing is. By the end of the lesson you will have surfed some of your first waves as well as gained a greater knowledge of the ocean.

Q: What should I wear for the surf lesson? Is a wetsuit provided?

A: You'll definitely get a wetsuit included, which is awesome since the water can be a bit chilly! Just wear something comfortable underneath, like a swimsuit. Also, don’t forget a sunscreen that’s reef-safe and maybe a hat for sun protection. You’ll want to be as comfortable as possible while you’re out there catching waves!

Q: Are there age limits for the surf lessons? Can kids join?

A: Yes, kids can definitely join! The lessons are suitable for all ages, as long as they can swim a bit. The instructor is really good with kids and will make sure everyone feels safe. Just check with him beforehand if your kids are really young or new to the water, and he can tailor the lesson accordingly.

Q: What if the weather is bad on the day of the lesson?

A: If the weather isn't cooperating, the instructor will usually reach out and reschedule you. Safety's a priority, so they won't hold lessons if it's unsafe to surf. Just keep an eye on the forecast, and you should be good to go! If you have a flexible schedule, that's even better.

Just had the best time at Leucadia Beach Surf Lessons!

OMG, I just came back from the surf lesson and it was incredible! The instructor was super encouraging, and by the end, I actually caught some waves! I was nervous at first, but he made it so much fun. The equipment was all ready for us, and the vibe on the beach was just perfect. Highly recommend it for anyone thinking about it!
